Ciprofloxacin API ( SIP-roe-FLOX-a-sin)
Fluoroquinolone (flor-o-KWIN-o-lone) antibiotic ciprofloxacin is used to treat several bacterial illnesses. People who have been exposed to anthrax or some forms of plague are also treated with it. The use of ciprofloxacin extended-release is only permitted in adults.
Only infections that cannot be cured with a less dangerous antibiotic should be treated with ciprofloxacin.
Serious adverse effects of ciprofloxacin might include tendon issues, nerve damage, significant changes in mood or behavior, and low blood sugar.
If you experience any of the following symptoms while taking ciprofloxacin, stop taking it immediately and contact your doctor: headache, hunger, irritability, numbness, tingling, burning pain, confusion, agitation, paranoia, memory or concentration issues, suicidal thoughts, sudden pain or movement issues in any of your joints.
