Terbinafine HCL

Terbinafine is an N-methyl-1-naphthalenemethylamine tertiary amine in which the amino hydrogen has been changed to a 3-(tertbutylethynyl)allyl group. an antifungal medication that is taken orally (often as the salt hydrochloride) to treat skin and nail infections It functions as an inhibitor of P450, sterol biosynthesis, and EC 1.14.13.132 (squalene monooxygenase). It functions as an allylamine, an enyne, a tertiary amine, an acetylenic compound, a member of the naphthalene family, and an acetylenic compound. It is the basis of a terbinafine(1+) conjugate.
Terbinafine is an allylamine fungicidal drug that can be applied locally and orally to treat superficial fungal infections of the skin and nails. Terbinafine has been conclusively linked to extremely uncommon, severe, and occasionally deadly cases of acute liver damage. A synthetic allylamine derivative with antifungal properties is terbinafine. Terbinafine works by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, preventing the formation of ergosterol, a crucial part of the membranes of fungi. As a result, this substance interferes with the formation of fungal cell membranes and prevents microbial development.
