Itraconazole
Adults who have fungal infections are treated with the antifungal drug itraconazole.
This includes infections of the lungs, mouth, throat, toenails, or fingernails, among other parts of the body.
Itraconazole sold under the brand name Tolsura should not be used to treat toenail or fingernail fungus.
An unborn child might be harmed by itraconazole.
While taking itraconazole and for two months following your final dosage, avoid getting pregnant.
Itraconazole should be taken with an acidic beverage, such as non-diet cola if you also take a stomach acid reducer (Tagamet, Pepcid, Axid, Zantac, and other brands).
Use this medication for the entire recommended period of time, even if your symptoms disappear fast.
Missing doses can raise your chance of developing an illness that is drug-resistant.
A viral infection like the flu or the common cold cannot be treated with itraconazole.
