Piroxicam API
The reversible inhibition of cyclooxygenase, which results in the peripheral suppression of prostaglandin synthesis, maybe the cause of Piroxicam’s anti-inflammatory effects. An enzyme called Cox-1 produces prostaglandins. Piroxicam inhibits the Cox-1 enzyme, which prevents prostaglandin formation from occurring. Piroxicam also blocks platelets from producing thromboxane A2, a substance that causes aggregation, and leukocyte migration into areas of inflammation.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, which include piroxicam, are a class of medication (NSAIDs). Piroxicam functions by lowering hormones that lead to pain and inflammation in the body. Piroxicam is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pain, inflammation, and stiffness.
