Trimethoprim API

An antibiotic called trimethoprim is used to treat bacterial ear infections as well as bladder and kidney infections.

The usage of trimethoprim is not limited to those conditions detailed in this drug guide.

Trimethoprim should not be taken if you have anemia brought on by a folic acid (folate) deficiency.

The use of trimethoprim in infants under two months of age is not recommended. A kid who is less than six months old should not be treated for an ear infection with trimethoprim.

Diarrhea brought on by antibiotics may signal the onset of a fresh infection. Before using an anti-diarrhea medication, consult your doctor if your diarrhea is watery or bloody.
