Rivaroxaban API
A specific inhibitor of FXa is XARELTO. It can function without a cofactor like anti-thrombin III. Free FXa and prothrombinase activity are both inhibited by rivaroxaban. Although rivaroxaban does not directly affect platelet aggregation, it does indirectly prevent thrombin-induced platelet aggregation. The production of thrombin is reduced by rivaroxaban’s inhibition of FXa.
